How much does Customer.io cost?
It's free to get started. We'll ask for your billing information to start sending emails on your behalf. Take a look at the pricing page for full details
Why do you ask for my billing info to send emails?
Since our service sends emails for people, we don't want to become a haven for spammers. Asking for your billing info helps us trust you enough to send email for you.
How do you get data from me?
You can always ask us for help in our chatroom, over skype or on the phone.
What about history? My site has been around for a while.
No problem. Send us your history. There's no charge. Your developer can use the REST API to add old data. OR you can send us an export in Excel / CSV and we’ll add the data for you to get you started.
What will my emails look like?
They'll look like they came from you. The content of the email can be created in our WYSIWYG editor or in normal HTML. Then you can drop in the theme your company normally uses, or pick one of our defaults. We'll help you make sure your emails arrive looking great.
Will users know the email was sent by Customer.io?
Not if you don’t want them to. Our default layouts have a small “powered by customer.io” logo which you’re free to remove.
Why can’t I just use my email account to send emails?
The most powerful thing about customer.io is it gives you the complete picture. We can tie together a user’s behavior on the site to the emails you’re sending and what they do with those emails. Sending it email on your behalf makes it possible for us to give you better insight into what’s happening.
Why should I trust you to send my emails?
We currently use a third party to deliver our emails. AND we’ve talked to email delivery experts and taken the time to make sure the emails we send on your behalf hit the inbox. The emails that you (and everyone else) sends through customer.io are wanted by the recipients, and tend to have much higher open rates and lower spam rates.
What if I exceed the sending limits on my plan
We know it's hard to predict how many customers you'll end up emailing. Don't worry though, we won't stop sending your emails if you go a little over. We'll encourage you to upgrade for next month and if you ignore us for a really long time (please dont), we may end up cutting you off.
