Our growing team

Friends, it has been hundreds of customers, millions of dollars of revenue and dozens of invaluable lessons since I last wrote to you.

Our long-term focus on building a lasting, impactful business led us to move the company headquarters to Portland, Oregon in 2014. Since then we’ve continued to experience growth across key areas of the business. That success is 100% credited to our customer community that is growing larger each week. The results they are achieving in their businesses is what makes us tick here at Customer.io.

As we’ve grown a big priority of mine has been extending our leadership team with the experience and skills we need to ensure we deliver bigger results for our customers.

Chief Marketing Officer

I’m pleased… no… I’m over the moon to announce that David Greenberg started as our Chief Marketing Officer. Before I had ever met David, people on two separate occasions gave me the advice that “we need someone like David Greenberg on our team”. There’s no better person to be guiding such a critical role in a next-gen marketing platform.

David has deep, proven experience growing early stage companies into market leaders, and has held key leadership roles at Jive Software, Urban Airship and Puppet Labs. David spent much of his early career being a power user of marketing technologies and has a deep knowledge of the space. I’m humbled by the opportunity to work with him as we navigate through the next growth phase of Customer.io.

VP of Customer Success

Speaking of customer success, I’ve also promoted Justin Hieggelke to be our VP of Customer Success. This is a new area of focus in our organization. Ensuring our customers get the most value possible out of our solution so they deliver bigger business results is of the utmost importance to me. In his new role, Justin will be responsible for overseeing technical support, onboarding, as well as a customer’s ongoing use of the platform with a focus on helping customers reach their key goals. All of our customer community will benefit from this.

There’s no shortage of opportunity or imagination from our customers of how they want to use our product today and in the future. That’s what keeps things interesting. Marketing technology over the next 5 years is going to change dramatically. We just celebrated our 4th birthday as a company. Our momentum has been increasing since day 1 and we’re just getting started making our mark.

Onwards and upwards!
